Got my figure back

 With a lot of travel involved for my job, having a monthly gym membership wasn’t practical & having got out of doing any exercise I thought the best way to do this was to find a PT… Enter Jon… I first met him nearly 4 years ago & at this point I had really let my fitness and figure go to the way side… I was very wobbly, very unfit, couldn’t hold the plank for more than 5 seconds without my back hurting and wore big baggy tops and baggy tracksuit bottoms to cover up!

It really didn’t take Jon long to get me fit, he worked with me on exercises I would enjoy and routines that would make me stronger and fitter for playing netball as I had dusted off my trainers and was playing regional again. Annoyingly I didn’t weigh myself at the start but once I did 3 months later I carried on to lose a further 20 lbs! He has put up with my whinging & yawning through early morning sessions, my irritating habit of complaining when he increased the reps each week & had tried to sneak the increase past me and also played to my competitive streak – ‘well you did 30 of those last time….’: Challenge accepted!!! 4 years later including one pregnancy I am still at my lightest & fittest!

He has made the sessions fun/ challenging and will also do routines for me that I can do when I am travelling! He worked with me right through my pregnancy… I think stopping me at 37 weeks when I really struggled to get in & then out of forward lunge – cannot of been an elegant sight! And he subsequently got me back to my previous level of fitness and figure in no time at all after having my little boy.

Very sadly I am moving out the of area otherwise I would still continue with Jon – I couldn’t recommend anyone more highly. Thank you Jon – our training sessions will most definitely be one of the things I miss most about leaving Leamington!!!

Mother of the Bride

 Thanks to Jon I lost two stone in just three months in time to enjoy being Mother of the Bride, with a new image that’s given me pride and a real sense of achievement.

Lost my Mojo

 15 years dedicated to my business had taken a toll on my self esteem and physical appearance. I was suffering from Acid reflux taking three tablets of omoprezel per day so I could eat and drink junk food. I wasn’t happy with myself and I’d totally lost my mojo. My weight had catapulted from 12 stone to 15 stone 10 pounds.

My family knew this and especially my daughter who decided to buy me a personal training voucher for a Christmas present. I initially just left it on the side thinking I would be able to turn things around without any help. I was wrong.

So at the end of February I finally decided to contact Jon. I told him how I felt and he said he could definitely help me. Wow what a gentleman. His knowledge of how the body responds to exercise and diet is second to none and he makes it easy to understand.

I loved the training with Jon – the workouts were structured so well that by an end of session I couldn’t believe how much I had achieved in one hour. As well as the training he totally re-educated me on my eating habits, which has set me up for life.

No more acid reflux and pain. My fitness levels have gone through the roof. And best of all, I’ve got my mojo back! I can’t go through the week now without watching my sugar and carb intake and hitting the gym or road running at least 3 times.

The Magic of Personal Training

But with the magic of Jon and his personal training, I was down from 15 stone 10 pounds in March to 14 stone by July 2017. What a great feeling. I now feel educated to look after my own body and health, and my new goal is 13 stone. I am currently at 13 stone 8 pounds and counting.

Lose my baby weight

 I was very nervous about having a personal trainer. I was fourteen weeks postpartum and over 21lbs heavier than before I became pregnant. My husband researched and booked Jon as a Christmas present. I was desperate to lose my baby weight and wear my pre-pregnancy clothes again. I didn’t want to redefine myself as 21lbs heavier!

How it works

On my initial training session I was incredibly nervous but Jon quickly put me at ease. He listened to me and alleviated any concerns I had which mainly related to how unfit I had become during my pregnancy. After a thorough assessment of my fitness and capability, I received an easy to follow exercise and nutritional plan. Each training session I had with Jon was testing but always achievable. At no point did I feel I was being pushed to do something that I wasn’t physically capable of doing. There were weeks where life events got in the way (lack of sleep mainly) and I was unable to achieve every single training session that was in my plan. I was always honest with Jon and he never made me feel guilty rather he was incredibly understanding and supportive.

My Results

After 14 training sessions, I have gained an incredible amount of fitness, lost the 21lbs and I have a much better understanding on what constitutes a good diet. I cannot recommend Jon enough; he has been fantastic and has managed to get me to where I wanted to be when I thought it was going to be completely unachievable.

Changed my life

 Hi Jon

I just wanted to touch base with you and let you know how I’m getting on these days.

When we finished training back in 2013, I think I’d managed to get down to 14st 3lbs at the lowest (from 18st 6lbs). Since then I’d managed to reach 12st 3lbs at my lightest and now maintain a stable 13st 3lbs and feel pretty good there.

Still a bit of a spare tyre to shift, but generally I’m in pretty good shape. I took up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in July this year which is kicking my behind and testing my cardio limits, but it’s honestly the most fun I can remember having since I was a kid!

You changed my life!

Thank you again for all the training and advice, as cliché as it sounds, you changed my life. I can’t tell you how many people rely on me for fitness and nutrition advice since dropping as much weight as I did (a grand total of 6st 3lbs from heaviest to lightest!). And I’ve only carried on learning and adapting since then as well, trying out Ketogenic diets, Slow Carb, Fasting, Paleo and all sorts of training regimes just to educate myself on the effects and what works for me. The amount I’ve learned about fitness and nutrition in the last few years is crazy and it all started with your help, so thanks very much!

I hope you are well. Paul asked me to share with you his recent photos from his 9 week body transformation programme. I took these this morning, no photoshop LOL

So proud of him, his perseverance is paying off. I can’t believe it is only 8 or 9 weeks since he first saw you. He said training with you was the best Christmas present he’s ever had!!!

Have a FAB weekend. We are no going shopping for new jeans/sorts as we go on holiday Sunday and his clothes don’t fit!

Goal: Bikini Body

 I asked Jon if he could design me the ‘ultimate bikini programme’ as we were going to the Maldives and I wanted my bikini body to look super lean and toned. Unfortunately this programme was to commence at the most awkward time of year for our upcoming holiday….. the festive season!

I have to admit when Jon turned up and showed me this bikini programme I had requested, it filled me with slight trepidation! The programme was different to any other I had completed. Jon had changed my nutrition programme to that of a really high fat intake, lots of oily fish…. I hate fish!!!

Until I met Jon in the summer of 2014 I had never really had fats in my diet due to eating disorders in the past. With his help and amazing knowledge of nutrition he has helped me to understand that healthy fats are not bad for me and are much needed in getting the figure and shape I desire. After just over an hour in my gym we had completed the demo of the entire programme. Jon assured me that if I wasn’t sweating the way I do in a 90 min Bikram class then something was seriously wrong!!

So I began my programme the week before Christmas of all times!! There’s supposed to be no ‘cheat’ days in this 6 week programme!After completing my first week I had already noticed a big change in my figure. Amazing feeling!

I was as good as I could have been over Christmas… few glasses of fizz and nibbles here and there, still determined that I’m going to look fab in my bikini!

Jon is ….. always right! He told me that I wasn’t to do much Bikram yoga while on the plan as it wouldn’t be as effective he also said that I needed to increase my fats to the targets he first set. I eased up on the yoga to just 1-2 classes a week and upped my fats and my figure started to look even better!

My 6 week programme turned into 8 weeks as I had started it earlier. On week 6 Jon recommended I go back to the start of the programme then for the last two weeks hit it hard at the highest levels. These last two weeks have been the hardest training sessions I faced yet, 11 sets, 11 reps, by the 7th set it was a mental & physical challenge to carry on but my god it’s been worth it!

Jon can really help you achieve your goals all you have to do is give 100 % effort back. He is always quick to respond to any questions I had regarding my diet/exercises and give words of praise and encouragement back to my photo updates which I was excited to send him on a weekly basis!!

He has helped transform my shape in 8 weeks ! I can’t recommend this guy enough, we have already booked in my next training programme, I’m sure I will be training with Jon for years to come!

Goal: To get running fit

 It was almost 5 months after running my first marathon, I had completely lost my running confidence yet planned to run another marathon in Spring 2016. I had no idea how I was going to do it, I couldn’t get over this mental barrier I had placed in my path, I could barely run a mile. That’s when I contacted Jon. It was back in September 2015 when we had our first meeting. I had asked him to help me get running fit again with a series of exercises to strengthen my body. Firstly I was amazed how little space he needed and we got going in my tiny garden.  I started to feel the difference in no time.

As our sessions went on and we got to know each other more Jon adapted what I had requested to what I needed. We started meeting at Newbold Comyn to run and do interval training. Because he logged all my results he could see the improvement but once we started the regular interval training I could see the difference clearly for myself. Jon absolutely achieved the goal I set- Get me running fit- he recognised it was a mental block and not a physical one. I don’t think I’ll forget the last interval session I had with him, I completely smashed it and left feeling I could run the world! I’m now back to running with confidence, with the Coventry Half in a couple of weeks and Brighton marathon in April, my sessions with Jon achieved this.  Once the marathon is over I am going to have some sessions on speed work and look forward to racing him round Newbold.

I can’t recommend Jon as a trainer enough. Not only is he really interesting to talk to his knowledge base is wide. It is clear that over our sessions he listened to me and how I was feeling. He adapted my training to my needs even if I didn’t realise it at the time. His positivity and motivation was endless and infectious! He was always on time, very organised and uses his environment well.  I suggest you set yourself a goal, book Jon and the sky is the limit!

Goal: Strength and Toning

 After a knee injury put a halt to my regular running regime, I decided to look into getting a personal trainer to work on my strength and focus on areas I’ve always had trouble toning (stomach, thighs, bum) whilst my knee recovered.
The thought of getting a PT was a little daunting but Jon immediately put me at ease as he is a genuinely great trainer who wants to help you achieve your goals. Always prompt, friendly and professional, Jon tailored my weekly work out for me to target the keys areas, keeping in mind my injuries but allow me to push myself and see the progress.  I went from only just being able to do a full push up to over 40 in one session!
Also the additional exercises Jon provided, in addition to the nutritional guide, really helped me not only physically but also mentally. I also suffered from sleep issues  I was extremely pleased by how much this improved since I started working with Jon.
I would highly recommend Jon to anyone who wants a personal trainer who will guide, support and drive you to achieve what you set out to do and more. Plus I really enjoyed it!

Goal: Improve my fitness and health

  One of the hardest things about relocating was having to stop being trained by Jon after five years. I can honestly say that I loved every session. I have a stressful job and truly believe that Jon has supported and encouraged me in so many positive ways which has enabled me to remain physically fit, which in turn has helped me in all areas of my life.

His training and support proved to be exactly what I wanted and needed. Jon was always 100% reliable. He was never late and was totally prepared for every session.
